Chartered Status

Chartered status is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the leading professional body for the global financial services profession. Competence, knowledge and ethical behaviour are the qualities embodied by 'Chartered' status.

What does our Chartered Status mean for you?

We hope that you are looking for a financial planning firm that is ethical, puts your interests first and has competent, knowledgeable people who are committed to maintaining their professional capability.

If you find these characteristics desirable in a firm then we are in agreement as these are the qualities embodied by Chartered status, and the reason why we are proud to have achieved the title Chartered Financial Planners.

You can find out more about the experience of working with a Chartered Financial Planner by watching the video below.

What is Chartered status?

It is an objective mark of professional standing among all professions (Chartered Accountant, Chartered Architect etc.). In the financial planning industry it is awarded to firms who can demonstrate commitment to developing knowledge, enhancing capability and maintaining ethical standards.

The title is granted by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the professional body for insurance and financial services.

Is it just a title or are there serious obligations we must meet to achieve and retain the title?

It most certainly isn’t just a title! To retain our status we must ensure the advice, service and ongoing support we provide to you are of the highest quality.

Our advice must be based solely on your researched needs, and provided by a financial planner who is competent to discuss products and services that meet your requirements.

To demonstrate our commitment to Chartered Status we

  • ensure our technical and professional knowledge and competence is evidenced through professional qualifications
  • keep our knowledge and skills up to date through continuing professional development
  • insist our financial planners are members of the Personal Finance Society (the financial planning arm of the CII) and comply with its Code of Ethics, which is enforced through disciplinary sanctions

Our Chartered status means a lot to us. It was not easily achieved, and it takes continuous investment in customer service and commitment to professionalism to maintain.
